EDIT: As an update to this review, I couldn't get hold of Dave's latest book "1+1=3" on kindleWait time was around 5 weeks to arrive in NZ so I did what any sane person would do...I ordered the book but then created a 2nd account on a UK Amazon store JUST so I could get his latest book on kindle...that's how good his stuff is (And possibly an example of his Creative Thinking on me the reader...)
I first read predatory thinking at the airport in Auckland International
The flight was delayed by 3 hours and I couldn't have been happier as I sat and turned the pages of this gem I had stumbled upon....
Yesterday I decided to see what else Dave had written and bought them all within 5 minutes (I started and finished this book in an afternoon!)
Dave writes with a flow and story I can only hope to achieve
As an "ad man" most people think you need to understand "the rules" and it's true to a degree.... But more importantly you need to understand humans and it's clear Dave does
His observations and anecdotes will have you turning pages and grinning ear to ear
I look forward to your latest book arriving in the post box!

A great book with snapshot of different ideas. Good for entertaining and questioning self. Suit for all type of readers.
If you want to be outstanding you should read this book. It's a good book to make you think differentiate from other people.
As a developer but not necessarily an 'Ad Man', this book, was really helpful in understanding the underlying truths about marketing communications. Plus, a helluva fun read -- it made me laugh!
Fun read with a ton of wisdom as its foundations that one can pick up and apply without having to make too much of an effort.
The book is a collection of advice for creative professionals, illustrated with lots of stories and anecdotes. I work in UX, and I'm accustomed to rather meek creative advice like "anyone can do it, there's no difference between yours and your user's creations as long as it functions". Well Trott is different! His version of creativity is brave and challenging. I found this extremely refreshing. Enjoyed the book very much.
I was asked to read this for a business writing course. And couldn’t stop. It is witty, quick and extends into everyday life. I am really glad I was exposed to it because it has reminded myself to follow my gut and not the ‘rules’
Witty, amusing, I like the author's clean, to-the-point, and engaging writing style.
Dave works in advertising, but this book is far from being ABOUT advertising... there's lessons and fresh out-of-the-box thinking in this book which can be applied on any other field of work and walks of life.
